About the Artwork: “The idea for this painting came from a discussion about symbolic images. For example, would a red cloak and a wolf’s tail be enough to invoke the story of Little Red Riding Hood? Here, it is late, and Red’s cloak can be seen hanging on a branch in the forest. A wolf can be seen swiftly leaving the path Red had been following on her way home. Where is Red and why was Grandma not in her cottage, but out so late at night? This is the first of a series of Grimm fairy tale images.”
